The Tax Manager will be a key part of Norse Atlantic Airways’ Finance Team. You will lead Norse’s tax function, including transfer pricing, corporate tax and airline taxes. You will take a hands-on approach and are a ‘doer’. The Tax Manager will deliver a full range of tax services to the group of companies in compliance with taxation laws and regulations. You will be prepared to deliver on complex taxation considerations but will also be responsible for delivery regular returns, take ownership of accounting numbers following implementation of transfer pricing policies, and you will support the Finance Team in other tasks to ensure that together we get the job done.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Deliver a full range of tax services for the Norse Atlantic Airways Group of companies in compliance with laws and regulations
• Owner of Norse’s international tax, transfer pricing and direct and indirect taxes
• Responsible for tax planning and tax reporting for the airline
• Maintain the transfer pricing documentation for Norse, initiate and perform transfer pricing reviews
• Ensuring compliance of domestic and international tax rules and regulations
• Assessing, managing and advising internally on the Group’s tax risks
• Submission of tax filings and reports
• Involvement in maintaining tax balances in the general ledger
• Manage tax provisions
• Involvement in tax accounting
• Providing innovative tax planning
• Manage and coordinate tax audits
• Provide support for or lead various tax and finance related projects as needed

Skills and Experience

• Experience from tax consulting (eg. Big-4) and/or proven experience as a Tax Manager
• Experienced in advising international groups of companies in international and local tax
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
• Experience from an airline would be advantageous, but not a requirement
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, as well as ability to work to deadlines and prioritize workload
• Tax qualification, or CPA
• A Bachelors degree within finance, law, business or similar
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and advanced Excel skills.
• English language
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to think counter intuitively and to challenge legacy ways of working; thinking like ‘there is no box’
