We are looking for a forward thinking People Advisor on a fixed term basis for up to 12 months who will work alongside the UK People Team. Joining Norse in this early phase means you will be heavily involved in the shaping of the Company’s operational capabilities. As Norse grows and evolves, you can expect to have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of tasks.
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and stakeholders relating to employee issues which will include advising throughout an investigation process, on disciplinary actions, performance management, grievances and absence management.
- Aligning advice with Company policies, UK employment law and the operation.
- Lead in investigation and disciplinary meetings where applicable
- Coordinating changes that impact payroll, ensuring all relevant systems and spreadsheets are up-to date
- Take ownership of the onboarding process, utilising the systems the Company have in place in the most efficient way, enabling new employees to smoothly transition from being a candidate to an employee.
- Implementing new processes to enhance efficiencies whilst being cost conscious
- Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and fit for purpose
- Be proactive on leading local initiatives, evaluating the resources the Company have and driving these forward to bring employees together
- Coordinating drug and alcohol testing to adhere to CAA requirements
- Participate in Global projects and People initiatives
- Be flexible in line with the business needs
- Support the Head of People UK as and when required
- Overseeing the workload of the People Operations Coordinator and providing support/ guidance
Required qualifications/ experience to be successful in this role
- Minimum of 3-4 years experience in HR
• CIPD Level 5 qualified is desirable
• Aviation experience is desirable
Personal Profile:
- A good understanding of current UK employment law and the ability to apply this to cases
- Experience of providing employee relations advice to mangers and stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Be able to evidence experience attending investigation, disciplinary, sickness and grievance meetings
- Self-motivated and able to manage own priorities in order to meet the demands in a dynamic environment
- Can influence and have an impact on decisions
- Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Great attention to detail
- Strong IT skills including Excel
- Comfortable with the rapid pace of change in both a business and personal context
- Has integrity, energy, lots of enthusiasm and is hardworking, likeable and approachable
