The Head of Schedule Planning is an essential part of the commercial team. This is an important position in the Commercial team, and will be integral to building up the airline's network as we maximize capacity and utilization between opportunistic business areas for long haul aircraft demand. You will lead planning and deployment of the network and capacity in close relationship with internal business departments and external partners, ensuring a strong platform for the airline to create profitable business and strong customer experience
The position will report to Director of Network and Capacity
Responsibilities and duties
- Manage our long haul capacity deployment plan for slots and a/c utilization
- Maximising aircraft utilization
- Delivering a commercially optimised mix of route frequencies and timings
- Ensuring that all flights have an appropriate landing or take-off slot at constrained airports
- Responsible for the management and protection of the airline slot portfolio at all airports across the network including slot submission and slot monitoring
- Ensuring that the Resource Planning/Technical department’s criteria for maintenance planning are delivered
- Delivering an operationally robust schedule that respects the key operational parameters from Crew Planning, Ground Operations and the Operation Control Centre
- Able to manage a small Schedule team to deliver business critical processes, often against challenging deadlines
- Short and long-term slot planning
- Responsible for delivering weekly updates and reports
- Assist in planned disruption management, coordination, and processing
We are looking for someone with
- Strong competence about airline capacity management
- Experience with traffic planning is an advantage – ideally 3 years+ of airline scheduling and slots experience from planning to delivery
- Experience from ACMI and charter planning
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations/guidelines such as EU95/93, IATA WSG
- Ideally, competent in the use of SSIM chapter 6 slot messaging
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrable ability to manage ambiguity balancing the often-conflicting demands of commercial and operational requirements
- Ability to clearly articulate views and able to provide evidence to support these, linking to business needs
- Considers alternative approaches and identifies new opportunities for continuous improvement
- Key contacts and relationships including airports, airlines, coordinators and trade associations across the network is an advantage
- Knowledge of various network planning systems is an advantage
- Love of travel and unwavering determination to make a mark in the industry
- High energy, positive, enthusiastic and a sense of humour
Experience sought:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Track record of delivery on multiple fronts in a fast-moving business.
- Bachelor's degree, MsC or advanced degree is advantageous
- Strong results from similar areas of responsibility
- Proven strong collaboration skills
- Proven good communication skills in English
