Are you a strong leader with a passion for building teams and driving financial excellence? As Head of Group Accounting, you will play a key role in shaping the finance function at Norse Atlantic Airways global operations. This is a temporary two-year position, offering a unique opportunity to establish and lead a high-performing accounting team while ensuring top-tier financial functions across our global operations.
This full-time, office-based role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic international environment, enjoys developing talent, and wants to leave a lasting impact on a growing airline by building processes, efficiency and teamwork.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and inspiring a high-performing accounting team;
- Oversee monthly group consolidation and ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant local regulations;
- Deliver timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for the Group, including overseas subsidiaries and branches;
- Manage key Finance functions such as Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Revenue Accounting;
- Contribute to working capital management and forecasting;
- Lead finance improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on ERP automation and process efficiency;
- Play a central role in cost management and embedding cost awareness across the company culture;
- Act as the key contact for external auditors;
- Establish accounting functions in new countries of operation, coordinating with both internal and third-party finance resources;
- Develop and enhance financial routines, controls, and procedures;
- Liaise with tax specialists to ensure compliance in multiple jurisdictions, including execution of transfer pricing policies;
- Drive modernization of financial reporting tools to reduce manual work and improve reporting timelines;
- Act as super user for Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system.
What we're looking for:
We’re looking for a hands-on leader who can combine strategic oversight with a people-first approach. Someone who can inspire and grow a team while also ensuring financial excellence and compliance across multiple countries.
Requirements:
- Higher education in Fiance or related field;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role;
- Expert level knowledge of IFRS and practical experience in applying the standards;
- Strong leadership and team management skills;
- Fluency in spoken and written English for communication with colleagues and cooperation partners outside of Latvia;
- Previous experience in a multinational company will be considered as an advantage.
