We’re looking for a Safety Officer – Fatigue Risk Management to join our Safety Support Department in Riga. This is a fixed-term position until 10.01.2028, supporting both our Norway and UK AOCs. You will handle and investigate Flight Operations and fatigue safety reports, follow up on corrective actions, and participate in regular safety and operational meetings with focus on Flight Operations and Fatigue Risk Management.
Safety Office – Flight Operations is crucial for both safety and operational success at Norse. As part of the Safety Team, you’ll collaborate with internal departments and external partners, provide data-driven insights, and help improve Safety in particular FRM processes across the airline. You'll also be a key advocate for safety culture, promoting awareness and engagement throughout the organization.
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Riga, Latvia.
Responsibilities and duties:
Manage Fatigue and FTL related Safety Reports;
Conduct Safety Investigations, risk assessments;
Produce fatigue related promotional material, including crew surveys and FRM guidelines;
Monitor Safety Performance Indicators and data gathering related to FRM;
Follow-up of corrective actions for fatigue issues;
Communicate with 3rd party providers regarding FRM processes;
Conduct flight pairing analyses;
Work with biomathematical model to analyze crew alertness levels;
Work closely with Crew Planning, Crew Control, Crew Travel, Flight Ops departments and provide recommendations;
Prepare, manage and provide FRM training in organization.
Organize and lead FRM related meetings (like FSAG and ad hoc FRM / FTL meetings) and promotions;
Continuously improve the Fatigue Risk Management.
Required qualifications and certifications:
Experience, knowledge, and/or willingness to learn about FRM regulations, scientifical principles and procedures;
Knowledge of EASA / UK regulations related to FRM;
Understanding of Safety Management Systems;
Knowledge, understanding and embracement of Just Culture principles;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Fluency in spoken and written English for communication with colleagues and cooperation partners outside of Latvia;
Excellent MS Word & Office skills (Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint).
Required experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience within Safety and/or Fatigue role. Other experience within a related field will be considered.
