DevSecOps Engineer
Do you thrive in an environment where security, automation, and innovation go hand in hand?
Norse Atlantic Airways is an airline committed to offering affordable fares on direct, long-haul flights to popular destinations, along with specialized charter and ACMI services for tailored travel needs and extensive cargo operations. Norse Atlantic operates a modern fleet of 12 fuel-efficient Boeing 787 Dreamliners, serving a network of destinations across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Founded in 2021, we are an ambitious, and fast-growing company in the aviation industry, driven by a commitment to innovation and excellence.
Do you thrive in an environment where security, automation, and innovation go hand in hand?
We're looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to take charge of our cutting-edge cloud ecosystem and drive excellence across our operations.
In this role, you will lead and own Norse Atlantic Airways' entire cloud infrastructure, primarily built on Azure services and the Cloudflare platform we build, protect and deliver our applications on. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and cost-efficient, enabling our teams and wider organization to deliver exceptional results.
This role located in Riga, Latvia.
Your responsibilities will include:
Cloud Infrastructure
Lead and own the design, implementation, and maintenance of Norse Atlantic's Azure-based cloud infrastructure and the Cloudflare application delivery and security platform;
Build, manage and ensure the infrastructure is optimized for performance, scalability, and security to meet the demands of a global airline;
Manage day-to-day operational tasks such as CI/CD automation and infrastructure scaling.
Infrastructure Support for Development Teams
Own and deliver the infrastructure and SaaS solutions needed to support multiple development teams and wider Norse organization, enabling them to build and deploy high-quality applications;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and security experts, to align infrastructure needs with business goals.
Cost Optimization and Monitoring
Lead cost optimization initiatives to ensure efficient use of cloud resources without compromising performance;
Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to maintain high availability and proactively address issues;
Lead the adoption of lightweight, AI-assisted ways of working – incident triage, anomaly detection across logs and metrics, and automation of repetitive ops tasks – setting sensible team guardrails rather than standing up a separate AIOps function.
Security and Compliance
Own the security posture of the cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices;
Partner with security teams to integrate DevSecOps principles into the development lifecycle.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in cloud infrastructure and security;
Identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
What We're Looking For:
Proven DevSecOps engineer with experience leading and owning cloud infrastructure;
Strong focus on Azure services and Cloudflare;
Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, including security, automation, and CI/CD pipelines;
Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day engineering work, with the judgement to tell where AI helps and where it doesn’t, and to lead the team as engineering practice keeps changing;
Expertise in cost management and optimization of cloud resources;
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment;
A growth mindset and passion for fostering a high-performance culture.
We offer:
The sky is the limit growth opportunity in dynamic aviation industry;
Monthly salary ranging from 3500 - 5100 EUR (Gross), based on candidate experience;
Explore the world with exclusive travel privileges to all Norse destinations, plus discounted tickets with our partner airlines;
Premium health insurance provided after the probation period;
Gym and wellness benefit, with co-payment for sports activities after the probation period;
Modern office in the city center - Novira plaza;
Inclusive and diverse work culture we bring together talent from over 40 nationalities.
We believe that culture will be our competitive advantage.
Team Norse has identified three core values that we all should live and breathe. They are:
