Director of Network and Capacity planning
Are you hungry to lead our global Network and Scheduling team, pursuing an industry leading opportunistic strategy, positioning Norse Atlantic Airways to excel in both the charter/ACMI segment and as a scheduled airline to build a resilient and strong long haul airline.
Our Director of Network and Capacity Planning will be instrumental in setting global benchmark to our business strategy and make sure we execute an agile capacity plan within global aviation. You will be responsible to our Network Strategy, including position the capacity efficient between commercial schedule, ACMI and charter business needs. You will lead implementation of Network strategy in close relationship with internal business departments and external partners, ensuring a strong platform for the airline to create profitable business and strong customer experience.

Responsibilities and duties
- Responsible for Norse Atlantic global network and a/c capacity planning
- Accountability for the efficiency performance of Norse’s capacity deployment
- Responsible to rightsize ACMI, charter and public schedule
- Manage the profitability of the commercial route network, making recommendations on timetables, capacity, frequency changes and overall commercial product to deliver Norse’s financial goals.
- Develop a deep understanding of the performance of the commercial public routes within the scope of your area of responsibility and communicate clear route and market strategies to internal stakeholders.
- Defines market and route strategies, and regularly reviews and monitors performance in line with these strategies and pro-actively adapts and evolves the strategy accordingly.
- Identify key performance and trading issues. Initiate, co-ordinate and manage activity with pricing, marketing, scheduling, sales, airports and comms to deliver actions that improve route performance.
- Pro-actively analysing business intelligence to lead analysis on potential new markets, network points, new routes including the existing route portfolio management, adjusting frequencies and mix each planning cycle and in-season as appropriate to optimise the route and network mix.
- Set budget production and monitor monthly performance.
- Closely monitor competitor activity and develop clear competitor strategies in each market.
- Work closely with the scheduling team to deliver the optimum commercial timetable that meets all slot and operational requirements.
- Ability to develop and manipulate schedules an advantage
- Process development and management with all required stakeholders to support the team responsibilities and deliverables.
- Able to manage a team to deliver business critical processes, often against challenging deadlines.
- Provides effective people management to develop team capability, direct performance towards organisational goals, ensuring the standards of all colleagues meet the requirements of the organisation and ensure adequate training programmes are in place as appropriate for each area
- Short and long-term capacity forecasting
- Responsible for delivering weekly route level forecast
- Lead forum with internal stakeholders beyond team to reach targets
- Assist in planned disruption management, coordination, and processing
We are looking for someone with
- First class competence and curiosity about airline capacity management
- Deep knowledge of Network planning and route development processing
- Knowledge about global aviation business
- Understanding of Network management principles and organized mindset
- Highly numerate and analytical with a strong attention to detail.
- Confident and comfortable with developing analysis and recommendations from multiple data sources and setting the business requirements to improve and develop the business.
- Strategic thinker. Able to consider the impact of multiple variables to base performance (competitor strategy, airport constraint, demand evolution etc).
- Excellent communicator. Able to present the results of analysis and build recommendations fluently whether in person, in writing or using MS Powerpoint
- Calm under pressure. Able to work constructively and collaboratively even when faced with demanding tasks or tight deadlines
- Able to manage a team to deliver business critical processes, often against challenging deadlines.
- Strategic reflections and leadership experience
- Love of travel and unwavering determination to make a mark in the industry
- High energy, positive, enthusiastic and a sense of humour
Experience sought:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Track record of delivery on multiple fronts in a fast-moving business.
- Bachelor's degree, MsC or advanced degree is advantageous
- Strong results from similar areas of responsibility
- Proven leadership and collaboration skills
- Proven good communication skills in English
